The proliferation of posts with this icon somewhere on them reminded me that the second session of Camp NaNoWriMo has begun, and it’s the last session before the main event in November (far more interesting than the World Cup, which I am thoroughly sick of hearing about).
The strange part is that I haven’t really put much thought into participating in Camp, so I’m cheating. I set my word count goal to 21,500, which is the number of words I normally write per month anyway. I’m not pushing myself, which is what many people do. Some of them have set outrageous word count goals (like 100,000 or even higher, and what’s scary is there are people who actually meet those crazy goals), but I would never try that myself because I would have to sacrifice both sleep and food, which would lead to a very irritable (or comatose) Maggie.
Good luck if you’re participating, especially if you’re starting a brand new story!
